I'm not big into black and white photography; I think it's beautiful but I appreciate B&W form with black and white film more than digital. I guess I feel like I'm cheating when I put a colored, digital image into black and white. It also makes me feel like my image wasn't good enough to be color. Which sometimes can be true, some images just look better in B&W, nothing wrong with that.
This shot was taken a while back when I was creating my lower division portfolio. This morning I woke up with the intention to get started on my flash homework but remembered I had a lot of models to respond to! Sorry models! So I did some quick edits (I'll admit- I cheated and used LR presets, they worked well though !) This is one of my favorite images and I probably would have used this in my portfolio, but it would have been the only black and white which would not have gone over well.
Cydney was a blast on this shoot. She showed up with a wardrobe that I would have killed for. We turned on the fan and had a good time. Cydney has such good skin I didn't have to retouch any of her skin, at all. All I had to do is a curve adjustment. And the camera loved her eyes, so all the pictures were tack sharp. Enjoy:)
